A St. Louis man who admitted shooting and killing another man in 2023 in the Marine Villa neighborhood of St. Louis was sentenced Tuesday to 17 years in prison.

Joshua Conley, 23, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the killing of 23-year-old Quentin Berry in the 2200 block Keokuk Street on Sept. 22, 2023. Conley was originally charged with first-degree murder.

According to court documents, a woman called Conley to help her after she had an argument with someone. Surveillance video showed an SUV with tinted windows and a missing front bumper and grill drive to the block just before the shooting. A man in a yellow sweatshirt got out of the vehicle and and then ran back inside after shots were fired.

Police got into a chase with the vehicle two days later,
