PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - As the holiday season approaches, so do the temporary employment scams, and the Better Business Bureau serving Central Illinois said this trend continues to grow.
In 2024, employment scams were the second most reported.
Jessica Tharp, president and CEO of BBB in Central Illinois, said holiday job seekers should look out for text messages that mention resumes and offer a link to complete an application urgently, asking for personal information like social security numbers, and if they ask for banking information.
