KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- As the government shutdown continues to stretch on, the Trump administration is now using the head of Homeland Security to deliver a direct message to airport passengers placing blame on Democrats for TSA workers not getting paid.

But a growing number of U.S. airports, including Kansas City International (KCI), are refusing to play the message.

The video, featuring Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, has sparked mixed reactions from travelers.

Some believe it’s important for people to know what’s going on others feel politics shouldn’t be playing over airport loudspeakers.

"I agree 100%," one passenger told FOX4.

"The Republicans are holding up the government no doubt about it the administration we have in there right now is not for people," another said.
