CLEVELAND — With the Browns all but officially moving to Brook Park come 2029, Cleveland businesses are already weighing what the relocation could mean for both downtown and the suburbs.
At Nuevo, a waterfront restaurant just steps from the current Huntington Bank Field, general manager Brad McKenzie says game days aren't as profitable as many might think. He notes that traffic restrictions and road closures often keep customers away — and even employees struggle to get to work.
"On a good Sunday, we can do anywhere from five to 10 grand," McKenzie explained. "On a Browns Sunday, we get a pop. We open early just to accommodate that, because it's either that or close the doors, and we do about 60% less profit on a Browns Sunday than a nice weather day."
