NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WTNH) — According to an arrest warrant application obtained by News 8 on Tuesday, the aunt facing charges in connection with 12-year-old Jacqueline “Mimi” Torres-Garcia's death previously pleaded guilty to risk of injury to a child in 2024 in a separate case.

Jackelyn Garcia, 28, was arrested in June 2023, pleaded guilty to the charge in September 2024 and was sentenced in December 2024.

According to arrest warrant application documents from 2022, the victim was Garcia's daughter. Officials stated that she was between 3 months old and 5 months old at the time of the incident.
