Treyton Hoffman stared downward and didn’t look at jury that had just convicted him of manslaughter.

As Superior Court Justice Patricia Moore thanked the jury for their work during the two-week trial, Hoffman’s shoulders shook slightly.

He kept his gaze fixed forward as the Crown and defence set dates to sentence him for his part in the stabbing death of a London teenager more than two years ago.

After only four hours of deliberations, the jury returned the guilty verdict Tuesday afternoon that convicted Hoffman as a party to the offence.

Malik McDonnell-Mills, 16, died of a stab wound to the femoral artery on Aug. 9, 2023, after he was attacked near Gladstone and Russell streets in the Glen Cairn neighbourhood.
