DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - The man found guilty of first-degree murder and arson will be sentenced on Wednesday afternoon.

Devon Braet was found guilty of first-degree murder in the death of Brian Goodwin and arson in July.

He was charged with killing Goodwin and Amy Smith and setting their bodies on fire in a Davenport apartment in January 2024.

He was found not guilty of killing Smith.

He was also found guilty of

Two counts of assault

Going armed with intent

Use of a dangerous weapon in the commission of a crime

Two counts of abuse of a corpse

Two counts of second-degree arson

Braet was originally tried with co-defendant Adriana Blake, who was sentenced to life in prison in August.
