It was a record-breaking night for UNT! The Mean Green energy was high for the university’s first sold-out crowd as the football team took the field, hoping to keep their undefeated streak.

While the scoreboard didn’t go UNT’s way, UNT alum Samuel Holsomback and his wife, Avery, had the best kind of surprise.

Their baby decided game day was “go time.”

“As soon as we got in the stadium, she went to the restroom and came out and was like, ‘Guess what?’ And I was like, ‘What?’ She’s like, ‘My water broke,’” Samuel said.

The couple headed back across the bridge to their vehicle, missing the game as UNT fell to South Florida.

“I’m like, it’s okay, we’ll make it,” said Avery. “I just gotta stop by the house and get the stuff.”

A few hours later, they had a new reason to celebrate.
