U-Maine Political Science Chair Mark Brewer said to expect others to drop out of the Senate race, as he says, with Mills' announcement, he believes this is now a two-person race to the democratic primary.
One candidate has done so as of Tuesday.
Maine Beer Company founder Dan Kleban suspended his campaign following Mills' announcement and endorsed her candidacy. He said he got into the race for Senate for the same reason he started his company, to do what's right. He said that motto has guided him, and he feels Governor Mills will put Mainers first in addressing issues like the rising cost of housing, healthcare, and other basic necessities.
