An alleged “spying” controversy has unfolded in the United Kingdom in recent weeks, after the government dropped a legal case against two people accused of covertly working for the Chinese government.
Opposition MPs, including Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch, have criticised the Prime Minister Keir Starmer-led Labour government for its handling of the issue.

The case concerns Christopher Cash, 30, a former director of the think tank China Research Group and parliamentary researcher, and Christopher Berry, 33, a teacher who had earlier worked in China.
