BIRMINGHAM, ALA. (WYMT) - The Kentucky Women’s basketball team made their appearance at the SEC Tipoff ‘26 on October 14.

The Wildcats open the season ranked 24th in the AP Preseason Poll.

Last year, the Wildcats made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament and the team enters this season with higher expectations.

“That’s why I came here,” Kentucky Women’s Basketball Head Coach Kenny Brooks stated. “I wanted the opportunity to compete at a very high level. If you can compete at a high level in this league, you’ll give yourself a chance to win a national championship and I think everyone should try to play for that. I don’t know if anybody is going to come in and say I just want to get to the tournament. I’ve been there. You want to go a step further.”
