RUSHVILLE, Ill. (WGEM) - Schuyler County, Illinois, is celebrating 200 years as a county and there is a special history exhibit showing off some of the county’s historic moments and interesting tidbits.
The Hub Arts and Cultural Center in downtown Rushville are hosting a special exhibit called “Bicentennial Reflections.”
Items for the exhibit were borrowed from the Schuyler Jail Museum and by citizen donors.
There are storyboard panels telling the county’s history from indigenous people to the present day.
“Interesting little tidbits that people might not know about Schuyler County. So, we have one about Al Capone coming to duck hunt in Browning and then we’ve got one that I think people really find very interesting that are from Schuyler County, we actually had 92 schools in Schuyler
