JACKSON CO., Ga. (WCAX) - Cats bound for a Vermont shelter got snarled up in a deadly wreck in the state of Georgia that left eight people dead.

Furkids Animal Rescue and Shelter posted photos on Monday of their “trans-fur” van, one of the cars involved in the pileup on Interstate 85.

It says the van was full of 37 cats bound for a Vermont partner shelter.

The van was crushed, and many of the cats ran off.

They’ve so far been able to find 35 of them, and one kitten is still hospitalized.
