MARIETTA, OH (WTRF) — A Washington County man has been sentenced to 20 years to life in prison for the 1995 murders of a woman and her young son.

Scott Hickman, 53, of Waterford, was convicted in August of aggravated murder and murder in the deaths of 28-year-old Kimberly Fulton and her 17-month-old son, Daniel.

Their bodies were found on March 5, 1995, inside a burned mobile home in Palmer Township. Investigators later determined that both victims were killed before the fire began.

The case was reopened in 2019 by detectives from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and agents from the Ohio Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

Attorneys from the Attorney General’s Special Prosecutions Section presented the case to a Washington County jury, which found Hickman guilty.
