The post-mortem of the body of IPS officer Y Puran Kumar was conducted at the PGI Chandigarh on Wednesday.

There were four PGI experts on the medical board: a convener, two doctors from the forensics and one from histopathology.

The post-mortem that started around 11.45 am took around an hour and a half.

Earlier, the family arrived at the PGI at 8.45 am and completed all formalities.

Since early morning, a heavy police presence had been maintained at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), where the body was kept at the Advanced Anatomy Centre (AAC).
