SHREVEPORT, La. - Get ready for a sea of pink and green in 2026.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated has officially announced it will host its 94th South Central Regional Conference in Shreveport from March 26–29, 2026.

Regional Director Shawn Emerson-Simmons told the Shreveport City Council the four-day event will bring nearly 6,000 members -- plus thousands more “social delegates” -- to local hotels, restaurants and shops.

“We will have a positive meaningful financial impact on this great city. We will paint the city of Shreveport salmon pink and apple green,” Simmons said.

“We like to say we wear pink and spend green.”
