NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – After only a few months on the job, a Republican state senator from southern New Mexico has left the legislature. Sen. Nicholas Paul, who represents Otero, Lincoln, and Chaves Counties, announced his resignation on Tuesday, citing health reasons.

This was Paul's first term in the Senate after winning the seat last year.
