VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — The ongoing issue of health care cost price hikes for Virginia Beach City Public Schools employees continued on Tuesday, remaining without resolution.

In a work session, School Board members discussed the possibility of infusing the health fund balance with extra money this year to help give them more flexibility in future years.

However, that won’t have an immediate impact on employees and retirees, who are being asked to pay more toward their health insurance premiums this year than in other recent years.

Outcry began this summer, with employees saying they weren’t told of the impending increase in their costs until after they signed contracts.
