A Texas teenager charged in connection with the death of her younger brother is pushing back, claiming she’s been wrongly accused.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office announced that Kara Walker, 17, was arrested on August 27 and charged with injury to a child, the same charge her boyfriend, 18-year-old Noah Stallings, faced five months earlier.

Both are accused of torturing Walker’s brother, Charles, who died in February.

Speaking from jail in an interview with Houston’s KPRC 2 , Ms Walker denied having any involvement.

“I’m being falsely charged. I wouldn’t do anything to harm my brother,” she said, explaining that she was stunned when officers informed her she was under arrest.

Ms Walker told the outlet that investigators found a note on her phone she insists was not hers.
