A judge has extended leniency to a rural doctor he called the "speeding physician" at Nowra District Court on Monday, October 13.
"I am not sure the community would be outraged giving this particular man, given the work he does, another chance," Judge Christopher O'Brien told the court.
Dr Vijay Aparanji, 50, of Worrigee, had been disqualified from driving for three months and fined $1000 at Nowra Local Court on August 19, 2025, for speeding by more than 30kmh over the limit.
He returned to appeal the decision, with the court hearing he was a rural medicine doctor who worked locally and remotely in aged care and relied on his licence to travel between locations.
