The first substantial storm of the fall brought widespread downpours and gusty winds across San Diego County Tuesday.
Bands of wet clouds delivered up to around four-fifths of an inch of precipitation along the coastline and more than an inch in the mountains, according to the National Weather Service.
Some of the two-day rainfall totals as of 5 p.m. were 1.39 inches at Palomar Observatory; 1.13 on Birch Hill; 1.06 at Rainbow Camp; 0.64 at Henshaw Dam; 0.63 in San Onofre; 0.61 in Skyline Ranch; 0.6 on Mount Woodson; 0.54 in Valley Center; and 0.52 in Bonsall and Couser Canyon.
Other precipitation tallies over the period hit 0.47 of an inch in Oceanside; 0.46 in Vista; 0.45 in Kearny Mesa and Point Loma; 0.44 in Miramar and National City; 0.43 in Carlsbad; 0.42 in Mission Valley; 0.41 in
