ANAHEIM, Calif. — Penguins television play-by-play man Josh Getzoff was taken to an Anaheim area hospital Tuesday after he fainted in the Honda Center press box.
The incident happened during the second intermission of the Penguins’ 4-3 loss to the Anaheim Ducks. Getzoff left the SportsNet Pittsburgh broadcast booth between periods, which is common, and he was in the middle of a conversation with another broadcaster when he fainted, bystanders reported. He was awake and alert after.
Getzoff was later taken to a hospital to be evaluated. The Penguins did not issue a statement on his status, but a team source said Getzoff reported that he was OK.
