COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – A touching tribute took place at Cherry Hill Park as Eliana Browne, a sixth-grader from Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy, planted a tree in honor of local heroes.
Eliana planted the tree to honor fallen battalion chiefs John Morrison and Frank Harwood, along with injured firefighter Dave Tysdal, the three men who were on June 29.
The tree planting was part of the school’s ‘Good Deeds Community Service Program.’
The newly planted ginkgo tree will provide shade at the Fallen Hero’s Plaza, a place dedicated to honoring police officers and firefighters who have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving the community.
