LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The price of a cup of joe continues to rise.
The latest Consumer Price Index report shows prices of coffee increased by 20.9% . But last month, House lawmakers introduced a bill, the “No Coffee Tax Act,” revoking tariffs on coffee.
“We stopped using the Brazil [coffee bean], and we started using the South Central American coffee; we actually love it,” said LaToya Bradley, owner and operator of Brew and Sip . “We just mix it.”
She said they stopped buying coffee from Brazil after President Donald Trump announced a tariff of 50% on goods from Brazil in August, which includes coffee.
