LEXINGTON, Ky. — Great news from the Kentucky Department of Transportation for drivers who use Interstate 75 in Madison—all lanes are reopening.
KYTC said in a release that contractors are removing barrels from the closed lanes on I-75 Wednesday, starting with the northbound lanes, followed by the southbound lanes. The interstate was originally set to reopen on Oct. 31. The state said all lane closures will be clear throughout the project, from mile marker 86 south of Richmond to mile marker 98 near the Clays Ferry bridge by Friday, Oct. 17.
The 12-mile project started in March. It included drainage repairs, six-lane re-pavement, exit ramp pavement upgrades, barrier walls at bridges, lane re-striping, new pavement markers, rumble strips and radar detection at interchange signals.
