During his first offseason with the Los Angeles Lakers, Luka Doncic took a confident and proactive approach. On his recommendation, the Lakers brought in Deandre Ayton and Marcus Smart. Ayton shared his excitement about reuniting on the court with Luka, the player he was drafted alongside in the same year.

The duo’s chemistry was on full display during their first preseason game against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday. In one sequence, Luka missed a shot but hustled to recover the ball and made a no-look pass to Ayton. The big man quickly swung it to Nick Smith Jr., who drained a smooth three-pointer.

Although the Lakers fell 104-113 to the Suns, the night was full of positives for the newly formed roster. Luka finished with 25 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and four three-pointers.
