Brits have been urged to be vigilant for symptoms lasting "more than an hour" that could indicate COVID-19 , and to isolate if they suspect they have the virus. The latest data from the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) reveals a rise in coronavirus cases in hospitals across England, with the XFG variant, also known as Stratus, currently the most prevalent strain.

In recent weeks, another variant, NB. 1.8.1 or Nimbus, has also been in circulation. Recognising the symptoms of Covid is crucial in preventing its spread.
