A state lawmaker and the UNC Greensboro chapter of the NAACP are calling for an investigation after viral videos show university police officers pulling a Black man from his car and forcing a Black female student to the ground.

One of the videos shows Alisia Rea, 22, a UNCG student from Charlotte, as she walks away from three officers along a sidewalk. The officers, two male and one female trainee, had moments earlier arrested Rea’s boyfriend Quentin Thomas, 24, of Greensboro.

Thomas was driving with Rea as his passenger about 10 p.m. on Oct. 6. Thomas parked his car in a left turn lane on Glenwood Avenue near the college and walked Rea to her nearby dorm.
