A 16-year-old girl was killed on Tuesday in a shooting that police said might have been accidental.

NBC10 reported that Philadelphia police said they responded to a 911 call at about 5:30 p.m. to a a home located along the 2400 block of North Colorado Street.

Upon arrival, they discovered a semiconscious 16-year-old girl who was suffering from a bullet wound to her abdomen.

She was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 6:46 p.m.

Although authorities did not release the victim’s identity, they did say that she did not live at the residence.

Police said they determined the teen was inside a rear bedroom on the second floor of the home when she was shot. They found a spent shell casing from a semiautomatic weapon and a loaded magazine in that room, and two semiautomatic
