DOVER — A long-anticipated project designed to reshape Delaware’s capital city officially broke ground Tuesday as state and local leaders joined the Downtown Dover Partnership (DDP) to launch construction of the Downtown Dover Mobility Center.

The center is a multi-modal transportation hub that marks the first major project under the $500 million Capital City 2030 master plan, which envisions a more connected, livable downtown through new housing, green spaces and mixed-use development.

Located at 148 S. Bradford Street, the Mobility Center will include 325 parking spaces, as well as bike storage and repair space and bus access. Ground-floor retail and micro-retail units will help revitalize the street level, too.
