A local college student and her mom turned a brutally honest conversation into a self-guided journal that promotes real connection, and now they're everywhere from TikTok to traveling across the country as they encourage others to learn ways to get real through journaling.

Teri and Ella Macduff, from from Needham, Massachusetts, say they weren't always so close. The mother-daughter duo credits journaling in a no- fluff but rather “real-talk” sort of way that broke down barriers.
