CLEVELAND — A Deputy U.S. Marshal was shot Wednesday morning in Cleveland and authorities say a suspect is now in custody.

The shooting happened near East 92nd Street and Hillock Avenue as members of the U.S. Marshals Service’s Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force were serving an arrest warrant for a felonious assault charge.

The Cleveland Division of Fire confirmed to 3News that the deputy was taken to University Hospitals by a law enforcement vehicle. A source told 3News the deputy was shot in the upper arm and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
