SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. —

UnitedHealthcare and Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System have extended their agreement until Oct. 24 as they continue negotiations for a new coverage deal.

Spartanburg Regional sent the following statement on Wednesday.

"The current agreement between Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System and UnitedHealthcare, which includes Spartanburg Regional’s hospitals, post-acute, affiliated physicians and ancillary providers, has been extended until Oct. 24.

"Spartanburg Regional values its longstanding relationship with UnitedHealthcare and remains committed to continuing good-faith negotiations to reach a new agreement by Oct. 24."
