An airport in the Canary Islands was forced to temporarily suspend flights on Tuesday after a drone was spotted flying less than one kilometre from the runway.
Operations were suspended at Fuerteventura Airport from 7am until 8.10am on October 14, affecting around 600 passengers.
Two flights were diverted and four were delayed for safety reasons, Canarian Weekly reports.
According to a statement from the Guardia Civil, the person responsible was quickly located and found to be operating a DJI FLIP drone weighing 249 grams in a restricted airspace zone (CTR).
