BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Florida International beat Western Kentucky 25-6 Tuesday night, moving the Hilltoppers to 3-1 in Conference USA action and 5-2 overall.
Graduate student quarterback Maverick McIvor threw three interceptions for WKU after entering with just two on the season. He was 20 of 31 for 159 yards. Freshman running back Marvis Parrish rushed for 74 yards.
Redshirt senior running back Kejon Owens rushed for a career-high 195 yards and a touchdown for the Panthers while freshman defensive back Jessiah McGrew made two interceptions. It was FIU's first road win in nearly two years; the last was Oct. 18, 2023, ending a 10-game road losing streak.
The Panthers also ended a five-game losing streak in the series against WKU, with their first victory since 2018.
