STRUTHERS Struthers police have arrested two women following the hospitalization of a 7-year-old boy who was found with multiple injuries.

The boy was admitted to Akron Children's Hospital in Boardman on Tuesday after being brought in by his mother. Hospital staff contacted police, reporting the child was unconscious and covered in bruises.

Two women who live on Euclid Avenue, ages 30 and 33, were booked into the county jail on charges of felonious assault, endangering children, and tampering with evidence. 21 News isn’t revealing the women’s names until charges are filed in Struthers Municipal Court.

Detectives collected swabs of suspected blood from the basement and a dresser shelf at the Euclid Avenue address during their investigation.
