LISBON - After decades of serving the Valley sweet treats, a family-owned Dairy Queen is closing its doors.
For 47 years, Gary Leininger and his father have run the Dairy Queen in Lisbon on State Route 45.
Leininger tells 21 News the building was built in the 1960's and he and his father aquired it in 1977, turning it into a family-run Dairy Queen.
Leininger describes the building as an old-fashioned, walk-up ice cream shop that closes every winter. They make a variety of sweets in house such as Dilly Bars and Buster Bars.
The Lisbon location is a treat only location and does not serve hot foods or meals. Leininger says Dairy Queen wants to modernize and accomodate their location to serve more than just sweet treats.
