INDIAN TRAIL, N.C. — A suspect has been arrested in connection with the killing of a Taco Bell employee in Indian Trail on Monday, jail records show.

The Union County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported shooting at the Taco Bell in Indian Trail a few minutes before 9 p.m. on Oct. 13. Investigators say a masked man entered the restaurant and shot Dantre’Veion De'anquon Hobbs in the kitchen before speeding away in a car.

Deputies announced Wednesday that an arrest was made in the case. Gilecio Ritchie, 22, was arrested at his home in Indian Trail on Tuesday evening, less than 22 hours after the initial 911 call. He's charged with first-degree murder in connection with Hobbs' death. A judge denied bond and Ritchie is not eligible for release.
