BRADENTON, Fla. ( WWSB ) - A Bradenton man who formally worked as a security aide at Booker High School has been charged with sexually abusing a teenager, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday.

The investigation began Aug. 12 after the Sarasota County School Police informed Manatee County authorities about allegations of sexual misconduct involving a school district employee and a student at the school.

The sheriff’s office says Daniel Wilson, 42, befriended the 17-year-old victim late last year and offered her a place to stay at his home in Manatee County after she became homeless.

While the victim was staying at Wilson’s home in the 600 block of Cortez Road West in Bradenton, Wilson allegedly coerced her into smoking a substance she referred to as “moonshine rock” and,
