WASHINGTON, D.C. (AZFamily) — Arizona lawmakers gathered in Washington on Wednesday morning to demand action on the swearing in of newly elected Rep. Adelita Grijalva.
The Arizona Congressional Delegation, including Senators Mark Kelly and Ruben Gallego, and members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) spoke at a press conference from Capitol Hill with Rep. Grijalva. They called on House Speaker Mike Johnson to immediately swear her in and had a clear message: they believe Arizonans are being taxed without representation.
“Just 22 days ago, she was elected, and folks in her district have not gotten the representation that they hoped to get when they cast that vote,” said CHC Chair Adriano Espaillat.
