CARBONDALE, Ill. (KFVS) - Former U.S. Senator from Illinois Carol Moseley Braun is set to visit Carbondale for a special presentation.
Braun will be discussing her pioneering career and new memoir at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22, at the Varsity Center.
A reception will begin at 5 p.m. in the lobby.
It is free and open to the public.
Pre-registration is not required, but encouraged.
The event is hosted by Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Paul Simon Public Policy Institute.
According to the institute, Braun will discuss her work with former U.S. Sen. Paul Simon, the institute’s founder and share her insights on leadership, resilience and the barriers she overcame in politics and diplomacy.
She will also sign copies of her new memoir, Trailblazer: Perseverance in Life and
