Police have identified an unhoused man who died after an unprovoked attack in downtown Toronto at the end of August, and say they are still trying to reach his next of kin.
Joseph Eric Aubin, 62, died on Sept. 4, nearly a week after he was attacked with a weapon by two people who approached him while he was sleeping on a bench in the area of Queen Street W. and Bay Street.
Though Aubin went to hospital with serious injuries and was subsequently released, he was later found without vital signs in a different part of the city and later pronounced dead, police said at a news conference last month.
