The RCMP officer who shot and killed Hugh Riffel at the Air North compound in Whitehorse in November 2022 provided written testimony Tuesday in the coroner’s inquest into Riffel's death.
Coroner Michael Egilson granted the RCMP’s request that Const. Joel Talbot provide a written statement instead of testifying in court. Talbot also provided written responses to follow-up questions provided by participants, including Egilson, coroner’s counsel, and Riffel’s sister, Flora Moore.
