KOZHIKODE: CPM leader EP Jayarajan lashed out at MP Shafi Parambil at an explanatory meeting on the CPM-UDF conflict held in Perambra. EP Jayarajan said that Shafi’s ascension to Member of Parliament brought ill omen to the constituency. In a sly dig, Jayarajan said Shafi to consider himself lucky as only his nose was fractured in the melee and advised Shafi, rather sardonically, to henceforth practice caution.

“Shafi’s arrogance should be restricted to the Congress office. Despite hurling a bomb, the police maintained composure and acted wisely without creating much of a ruckus. Can anyone point me to the police official who is alleged to have smashed Shafi’s nose?” asked Jayarajan.
