BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Buffalo man was arraigned in court Tuesday on charges connected to a fatal shooting this past summer.
Moises Cortijo, Jr., 48, was arraigned in Erie County Court on one count of Murder in the Second Degree and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree.

Investigators say Buffalo Police responded to a report of a shooting July 13, 2025 on Busti Avenue. When police arrived on scene, they found the victim, 35-year-old David Ortiz-Ramos. Ortiz-Ramos was taken by ambulance to ECMC. He was later pronounced dead.
Cortijo is currently being held without bail. If convicted, he faces up to 25 years to life in prison.
