TAYLOR, MI - A Livonia man has been charged for threatening to blow up a police station and kill an officer.
Steven Barber, 33, is accused of emailing a threat to blow up the Taylor Police Department and kill one of the department’s officers on Sept. 29, according to a release from the department.
He is also suspected making similar threats to neighboring jurisdictions, police said.
Barber, of Livonia, was arraigned Oct. 11 on charges of making a false report of terrorism, making a false report of a bomb and two charges of using a computer to commit a crime. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison.
He was given a $100,000 bond by 23rd District Court Judge Laura Echartea. He will next appear in court Oct. 20.
