LEWISTON, Idaho -- The Lewiston Police Department arrested a man for several counts of grand theft and burglary following a monthslong investigation.

According to LPD, a theft victim saw their own stolen property on Facebook Marketplace in March. Officers recognized the background as a local hotel where the suspect, 42-year-old Christo Xiggenis, was staying.

Police located and arrested Xiggenis. He was placed on felony probation.

Five months later, LPD officers located a stolen pair of binoculars at a pawn shop that had been sold by Xiggenis.

Two weeks after that, Xiggenis was arrested by Nez Perce County deputies on an unrelated felony charge. More stolen property was found in the vehicle.
