LEWISTON, Idaho — Lewiston police arrested a man accused of theft and burglary related to a string of vehicle burglaries in Lewiston and Clarkston.

The Lewiston Police Department says 42-year-old Christo Xiggenis was connected to an investigation that began back in March after at least 27 people reported vehicle burglaries.

LPD says a victim discovered their stolen property as listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace in March, and an officer identified the carpet in the online photos as that of a local hotel where Xiggenis was found to be staying.

After obtaining a search warrant, police recovered a stolen financial transaction card from Xiggenis' hotel room and placed Xiggenis on felony probation in connection with the offense.
