GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Marlin Roper is facing felony child cruelty and aggravated battery charges after allegedly using his vehicle to intentionally strike someone early Wednesday morning.

Alachua County Sheriff’s officials say Roper drove to the victims place of work with a two-month-old baby in the car.

According to ACSO, Roper followed the victim in a car and intentionally rammed their vehicle several times while traveling on Waldo Road.

Law enforcement says Roper followed the victim to an IHOP where the two continued to verbally argue.

The victim says that Roper was throwing items at them and alleged they threatened to stab the child.

Law enforcement located Roper at his mother’s residence where a vehicle with front end damage consistent with allegations was found.
