CHAPEL HILL — UNC football coordinators Steve Belichick and Freddie Kitchens are staying the course in "stacking days" as the Tar Heels prepare for their ACC road opener at California.

For the first time since preseason practice in August, Kitchens and Belichick spoke with media members inside the Kenan Football Center, providing assessments of where their units stand ahead of UNC’s game against the Golden Bears (4-2, 1-1 ACC) on Friday, Oct. 17 (10:30 p.m., ESPN), in Berkeley.

Following a tumultuous start for the Tar Heels (2-3, 0-1 ACC) in their debut season under head coach Bill Belichick , Kitchens and Steve Belichick don’t seem to be overly concerned with where UNC stands through five games.
